If you describe Northcote Road in a few words or phrases what would they be?

Seems on the quiet side to me but could be cost of living and maybe the weather  :( Great for coffee and Italian food and deli but I really wish it could have the pedestrian restrictions back. Had a lovely holiday feel to it and I am sure would benefit retailers?

I definitely think it needs the weekend closure again. It was a wonderful atmosphere and the shops and bars need it . It’s a great road but needs that va va voom back. Even in the rain it was busier and they all catered well.

I don't think it did much for the shops, certainly not the ones I've spoken to.  If you sell alcohol however, yes, even the fish and chip shop pivoted to selling sangria!

Funny enough after taking away the closure of Northcote Road during summer weekends as too expensive Wandsworth Council is trialling the same in Tooting.

I would like to know how the Council takes their decision and the rationale for this.

Interestingly enough, the same councillor who killed the Northcote Road scheme (Kemi Akinola, now deputy leader) is the councillor for Tooting.  I'm sure that most people on here can join the dots...
