Whitgift New Head

Postby Considering Whitgift » Tue Apr 16, 2024 5:35 pm

Our son is currently in Year 5 and Whitgift is on our list of schools that we're considering for Year 7.

Just seen that Whitgift have announced who the new Head will be for September 2025, when our son would potentially start! It's someone called Toby Seth who is currently the Head at Pocklington School in Yorkshire. Have to say I've never heard of Pocklington School before and moving to Croydon from rural Yorkshire will quite a change for him, I should imagine!

Anyone have any intel on the new appointment?

This will be Mr Seth’s second Headship, having been a head at Pocklington for 5 years. At 48 Mr Seth is celebrating his 22nd year teaching. Born in 1976, Mr Seth was educated at Dulwich College before graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge where he read Modern and Medieval Languages. He went on to study for his PGCE at King’s College London, followed later by a Masters in Leadership in Education at The Institute for Education.

He started his teaching career at Dulwich College in 2002 teaching Spanish and French. He then broadened his teaching experience through posts at Wellington College, The Godolphin and Latymer School and at The King’s School Macclesfield, prior to his move to Pocklington as head teacher since 2019.
