First buy...Shared homeownership

Postby lawrence » Thu Nov 03, 2011 7:23 am

Hi
Does anyone knows how long you need to buy this part buy-part rent new properties?
As a young family we found very difficult to buy any property
so this is our only option to having our own home,
Do you have any expirience, how did it go?
We are looking to hear some expiriences with this!!
I know a little about, and really want to hear from you guys!!
Simply dont know where to start from...shall we get morgage approved first, shall we reserve property, dilema of young buyers on some what low income.... :!:
Looking forward to hear your story
Best wishes
B :)

Hi,
We have just moved to our apartment in August which we bought on basis of shared ownership.
First thing we did was to register with the housing option website. Once we found something we were interested in we made appointment and went to see the place... It all started there.
My husband was mainly dealing with the whole paper work headache but if you would like to go through the process in more details you could PM me.
It really is a good idea of how to get on property ladder. There are some restrictions such as max annual income cannot exceed certain amount, you have to be a key worker or renting within the borough and first time buyer.
