Recommendation for carpet supplier and fitter?

Postby Familycompleted » Sat Feb 04, 2012 3:14 pm

We are looking to buy a runner for the stairs and a fitter who can do this. Is there any company anyone would recommend? We heard of Roger Oates - is that a high end place or is that average? Seemed lovely but quite pricey and we don't know what the normal price range is for these things? :?

Any advice would be much appreciated! :D

We used Floors for Thought on Battersea Rise for our carpets and stair runner and are very pleased with the result. The runner was handmade exactly to our specs and looks lovely. I would recommend them without a doubt.

We have always used Admiral Carpets on St John's Hill, that is to say 10 years and 3 properties, and cannot fault them.

I've used Carpet Man, Wandsworth http://www.carpetman.com/
They fitted a runner by Alternative Flooring. We had looked at Roger Oates but weren't sure of the patterns so we found a carpet we liked and had it fitted as a runner with taping on the edge. Carpet Man came in as the cheapest to resource the materials and fit. Highly recommend.

Didn't get carpet fitted but that glittery safety flooring for kitchen. And it was 3 years ago, but I'd recommend Carpetbase ( I think is the name) - shop on cavendish rd where it meets honeybrook, just near poynders rd at Clapham south

We have a Roger Oates stair runner. It is fab we love it. It was fitted by Bowloom on queens town road who were great and have a massive range of stair runners including cheaper ones. Roger Oates carpets are not cheap... The Bowloom website has lots of examples of stair runners they have fitted so may be worth a look (even if just for ideas etc).

I got new carpets fitted last week after our loft conversion. These guys are amazing!

They moved my furniture, fitted great carpet and fantastic underlay. They are a little further out, but a great, great company.
