Has anybody got suggestions now the garage on Chatham road has shut? Thank you.

We use the garage under the arches on Latchmere Road - they are LOVELY and very reasonable. They generally also always squeeze you in if you are in a rush. Also the wife of the owner works there which makes it easy to walk into - sometimes these all male places are a little intimidating.

I actually love my garage, genuinely, Peter is a lovely man who runs it, kind and honest and cheap. I have often gone to him with fear of how much my very ageing car is going to cost to repair or MOT and it always is so much cheaper than I think it is going to be.

I used to use HiQ on Chatham Road too, and went to Kwik Fit on the Wandsworth one way system (next to the classic cars place) this time. I was really impressed with their service and it was great to be able to go to Southside instead of sitting in the waiting area!

There is a garage in Lavender Hill just past the BAC. It's hidden behind some flats, you need to drive under the arch of the building (difficult to describe!). Anyway mu husband took our car down there last week and they MOT'd it whilst he waited. Didn't take long.

Have you tried the garage on Oldridge Rd, next to The Grove pub?

I always take my car to Vulcaniza Tyre Service for the MOT - they are at 363 Clapham Road SW9 9BT, just past Clapham North tube. They provide a drop in MOT service, so you don't have to make an appointment beforehand, and they are very helpful and friendly.
