We would like cupboards / shelving building into the alcoves in our front room - nothing too fancy and the alcoves are standard size for a terrace house (about 1m wide either side of the fireplace). I've had 2 companies / carpenters out to quote and both £2000+ which seems alot.
Is this really the going rate for built in shelving?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good company or carpenter who could build these for us
hi Julia - we just had a great carpenter who worked on all sorts in our new house from floors to huge built in wardrobes - he is very easy going and has does everything to a really good standard. Am about to get him to do bookshelves also.
his name is Tony and his mobile is 07974 221294
Hello
I am an Interior Designer and have a few carpenters that I can really recommend, having worked with them many times. If you send me a direct mail to mail@londonpropertymakeover.com then I can share details. They have different price points so I can provide details of a budget price vs more premium.
We have just received a quote from Lahart Carpentry for £1700 for our alcove shelving and cupboards. Our alcoves are 120cm wide and were having cupboards and shelving on one side with drawers and shelving on the other. Price does not include painting but I think its reasonable?
hi i can recommend michael mullally, he is just a lovely guy who enjoys carpentry work and has loads of experience; he would never rip you off and is completely reasonable and local too. he is on 07966560320, definitely worth a call
I would recommend John Colvin of Colvin Brothers http://www.colvinbrothers.com
He fitted some fitted wardrobes and drawers in our new loft bedroom and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
