Hi there,
As of July our fantastic nanny will be finishing with us as I am now on Materenity leave with our second child. When we started looking for a nanny I was so happy to hear testimonials from mummy's first that I am writing one for our nanny.

She has been with us for 18 months and I cannot tell you how amazing she is and how sad our son will be to see her go but financially we can't keep her when I'm not working.

Since starting with us she has shown so much love and attention to my son and treats him as her own. My mummy friends constantly tell me how great she is with him when they see her and I've been approached by people we don't know to compliment her.

She is native Spanish but has good very English. She has 3 years experience in the UK as a nanny caring for 2 children (nanny share), and previous experience in Spain.

She is looking for a full time role, she's based in Balham / clap south.

thats the trouble with these mums that go on maternity leave they are all for the nanny to start working for them telling everyone how amazing there nanny is has soon has they become pregnant with the second they either tell them they dont need them anymore or reduse there days.they should make it clear when they start by giving them the choice.well i will be having more children so i proberly wont need you or i will cut your days down.there so many on here givng there nannys a good ref.because they cant afford them then they should think about that at the time.its just happened to me.

I don't understand - How could they know when they will have another baby and how it will all work after? I understand it's frustrating when things change but that's life I'm afraid. At least you still have a job, no? I hear about so many redundancies meaning nannies no longer have work. Or families moving away. Either way, things just change, don't they? Sad but true.

thats just it they do know if they will have more children they never really stick to just one and its nearly always when the first one is about 2 or younger read how many nannies have lost there jobs because of mums going on maternity leave and no i dont still have a job.

Dear luvnyrick,it's a pity you've posted such a negative message within this positive thread read by many potential employers as you say you are looking for work but have now set a negative tone.

Obviously you are frustrated with your situation but that doesn't mean you should comment on one that you know nothing of.

I don't feel the need to explain the fantastic relationship and understanding my nanny and I have nor the decision we've made - she was shocked to read your post by the way- however I did feel the need to reply.

I wonder if your employer can assist you by providing a glowing reference as our nanny has had multiple enquiries. Perhaps not.
