Can anyone recommend some good swimming classes for a 4 year old, not too far from Northcote Road?

Have you looked at Trinity Hydro Centre?

It's a great place to learn, but if your little boy is more advanced than beginner, then I recommend the small, clean, warm pool at Wimbledon Leisure Centre which is part of the Better group. My son adores his Saturday swimming lessons.

Would thoroughly recommend South West Swimming School, my little boy has been there literally weeks and is swimming independently with a back pack. Amazing! They have various locations. Website http://www.swswimschool.co.uk/
