Mauritius at Easter

Postby madamex » Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:12 am

Any advice on hotels for Mauritius at Easter? Looking for somewhere nice, but not as expensive as the Saint Geran, Residence etc with a kids club for about 4-5k for 9 nights?

If you would consider part self-catering option then I recommend Heritage Villas - went there in August 2013 - great kids club (complementary) and beautiful villas. Breakfast and daily maid service included and there are two linked hotels with restaurants if you want it. Here is a link to Trip Advisor. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Revi ... ml#REVIEWS

We've just booked to go to Lux Belle Mare. Half board, 9 nights at hotel plus 2 overnight flights comes in at £4-5k depending on room choice. There are some lovely recently refurbished rooms (they cost a little more but not lots). A lot of the public areas have been recently refurbed too. The beach looks AMAZING and there are clever little touches like an ice cream bar and a coffee counter (all free).

I haven't been before but it gets great tripadvisor reviews (some even look genuine :D ) and more importantly a friend went a year or two ago and recommended it. Kids club gets great reviews.

However we also managed to get quotes for the Residence at about that price level though I think? So if you want the Residence maybe shop around (try Totstoo) and you should be able to get it within budget.

Hi pie81, can I ask who did you book with? I am looking at a similar holiday for May with BA and the only return flights I've found depart in the morning which is not ideal
Thanks!

Hi, we booked with Tots too. Our flights are with air mauritius, they do overnight flights both ways unlike ba. (from memory their overnight flights outbound are on weds, fri and sat and inbound on thurs and sat).
