Seeking exceptional live-out nanny for 8 mth old baby girl

Postby Wfm » Tue Aug 17, 2010 6:11 pm

Location: Wandsworth Common

We are a family of three and are looking for a highly experienced and caring nanny to undertake sole charge of our 8 month old daughter. This is a full-time position commencing in mid-October and allowing for a month’s transition period before I return to work. Ideally, we are looking for someone who would like to commit for the long-term.

You will be an experienced, mature and trustworthy nanny with excellent references, who takes pride in her role, never cuts corners and who will genuinely want the best for our daughter. You will be organised and efficient and have the ability to maintain our daughter’s current routine, or adapt it as necessary. You will be proactive in organising activities for our daughter, including taking her to toddler groups and arranging play dates. You will have a passion for educational play and for reading books to children, and a natural talent for stimulating interaction. In essence, you will be a proactive nanny who is able to seize initiative as appropriate, whilst also maintaining consistency with our philosophies on raising our daughter (e.g. no TV).

Working hours will be 7.30am – 7.30pm Monday to Friday. In addition to general care, duties will include:
- taking our daughter to toddler groups and play dates
- preparation of food for her (we intend to do the actual cooking for her but may seek alternative arrangements depending on your experience)
- baby’s laundry (precise allocation of work between yourself and cleaner to be agreed)
- light housework to include keeping kitchen and communal areas tidy, emptying dishwasher and keeping baby’s room/toys clean and tidy. Additional tasks to be agreed but note we have a regular cleaner

Important pre-requisites include:
- five years experience minimum, including working with babies
- ability to work additional hours at short notice, including potentially staying overnight
- live locally (in order to be able to commit to early start)
- no mobile phone usage during work hours unless work-related or in an emergency
- fluent English (spoken and written)
- non-smoker
- two checkable references
- recently CRB checked
- recent first aid certificate

Additional helpful extras include:
- willingness to do babysitting with reasonable notice (paid extra)
- confident and safe driver
- ability and willingness to travel with us
- OFSTED registered

If you would like to apply for this position, please could you kindly send me your CV and photo, along with your salary expectations. Please also include in your cover email why you think you will be best suited to this job.

The application process will consist of a mixture of interviews and a trial run at home with myself for half a day.

We look forward to meeting you. Thank you for your time.
