Which summer camp? recommendations please!

Postby mmb » Sat Jul 05, 2014 2:06 pm

Hi, I've had a look at the following summer camps for my children aged 4 and 7: Playball, Youngstar and SW Sports Multisport camp. Has anyone experienced them? which one would you recommend and for what reasons?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

I would very much recommend Playball but last time I checked for another day most days are sold out. I wasn't nearly as impressed by Youngstars but I know others really enjoy it…

Good luck...

Not sure if your 4 year old is too young but would highly recommend ActivCamp at Emmanuel School, All Star Tennis (if they like tennis) and Chelsea football (if they are into football!). My kids love all 3 camps !

Do you need all day? Some of them, like Activ camps and SW sports are a bit long for a 4 year old, but the All Stars tennis that someone recommended is just 2 or 3 hours and is really good.

SW multi sports is mainly just football from my past experience, but maybe they have broadened it out now. I think they give kids choices and my kids always went with whatever their mates were doing (football) rather than doing the tennis that I would have preferred them to try!

If your school has a camp they are generally good and the kids love being with other children and teachers they know.

Check out the Merton council website for sports camps as well, they do some which are water based as well as land based. I have heard good things.
