Children's Nutritionist Needed

Postby AbbevilleMummy » Mon Mar 09, 2015 1:36 pm

I'm looking for a nutritionist for my 5 year old daughter. She has always been skinny as everyone in our family is small, however, we have now received a letter from school to say that she is very underweight. She eats a lot but is extremely active and so we don't really know what to do to get her weight up. All the NHS advice regarding healthy snacks etc is useless as we already do all of that as a matter of course.

Has anyone else been through this and can recommend someone who could help us?

Thanks in advance

I have attached contact details for Luise Marino who we saw regarding my daughters lack of calcium a few years ago. She was based in Harley Street then not sure if still the case.

I found her excellent and had a wonderful manner with my daughter and also i found her advice very practical in today busy life.

Hi Abbeville mummy

I'm a public health nutritionist, I've worked for the NHS and now work at Which? I'd be happy to help you.
If you'd like more information send me a message.
Best wishes

We see Rosan Meyer for our toddler's dietetic and nutrition needs.
Such a caring, lovely woman who has saved my sanity when dealing with a fussy, allergic child who was severely underweight. Lots of common sense, very approachable and 'human', and a wonderful way about her.

She's Harley Street now too (we used to see her at Great Ormond St, when she was living in Paris and commuting - a sign of her true dedication to these children!). A real expert in her field I would say.

Looks like you already have some good options, you could also try Christina Merryfield who's Lead Dietician at the Cromwell Hospital and also has a private practise - 07806 632153.

Thanks everyone!

I've contacted Rosan Meyer and await a consultation!

Fingers crossed we can get some fat on her!

Looks like you're already sorted with a great recommendation but for anyone else looking to this as a resource do look up the difference between a dietician and a nutritionist and the different qualifications that go with each.
