best name tags for uniform

Postby Mary-in-Earlsfield » Tue Sep 01, 2015 1:53 pm

My eldest is starting Reception on the 10th (exciting!!) and I'm going through the motions of trying to assemble his uniform. Looking for recommendations for the best/easiest to use name tags out there. I'm not a sewer at all, so I guess the iron on ones are the most probable, unless there are other choices? Should I purchase through Amazon?

Thanks for your tips!!

Hello,

I write their names with a black felt pen on the labels inside the garment. If there is not much space, I just write our family name. :-)

Best wishes

Stikins from label planet are great. I've got to reorder actually as I've nearly run out of my older son's labels.

I think they came very quickly

you peel and stick, and they do stay stuck.
You can also put on water bottles, shoes, pens. They go fine through the wash... They are really handy, ours are in the letter tray in the hall so I often quickly put a label on a new item such as a coat as we are walking out the door.

Also - top tip - if you child has a coat with an unzippable hood, remember to name tag that too, as we lost the hood of my son's winter coat last year and it never turned up in the lost property.

However, I saw someone else talk about a name stamp you can get made up - more expensive but would then last for years. You use it with an ink pad. Has anyone used on of those and do they work?

http://www.able-labels.co.uk Is a fantastic company. They've been going for years and their school starter kits are brilliant.
Their stickers if you need them don't even come off in the dishwasher or steriliser.

I use stickeasys from easy2name. They've survived umpteen goes through the washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.

I also use Easy2Name. I used the iron-on woven name tags and they've been great. Not one has come off in the washing machine or tumble drier. I use their name stickers for shoes and water bottles - also very good.
