Has anyone got any good ideas for my sons birthday party apart from the usual soft play options?

The parties that have worked for us:

1. football party at a leisure centre so it's indoor with an inclusive instructor
2. cinema at the Exhibit (can get rowdy) you bring your own DVD, they play it, feed the kids and then you leave them to the mess. I've found this works best if you can do a "something else" to stop them feeling bored so a fancy dress competition (all need prizes) before/after/during is also good
3. swimming: may be a bit young? The Balham Leisure Centre have an amazing inflatable which is brilliant
4. cinema party with McDonald's before/after
5. hire a hall (Scout Hut used to be brilliant but there are a ton of church halls) and an entertainer and maybe even a disco. This can be amazing

We had Sharkey and George at our house for a 7th boys birthday party... they were brilliant, all we had to do was fill them up with sandwiches and drink for 20mins and they were off again - well worth it!
