Apologies for the hassle, some elements are going great but others are a bit tougher.

We're working on it right now.

I didn't know there was an issue with PM's, I'll send one to you now as a test.

Thanks for bearing with us!

Annabel, the time on the website is wrong by 1 hour.

Also, after logging in I cannot find all the recent for sale listings. You have a selection of old items for sale under 'noticeboard' but not the recent ones. The usual icon for buying/selling is viewable from the home page but after logging in the view changes and this can't be found in the list of items that appears.

I really miss being able to see the number of posts someone has made - this used to appear next to their username when they posted something. Not a big deal I suppose but I liked that feature!

I still see the post count for every user right under the username of every post just like in the old site. What is it you're referring to?

Interesting. It doesn't show up on mine. Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

There is no setting for that nor is there a way to remove it selectively via permissions or otherwise. It shows up for everyone, even guests. If you are viewing on a mobile device then that's different. The mobile theme has to adjust for screen real estate so one of the things that is "sacrificed" is most of the poster information panel, which includes the post count.

Oh I see. That's a shame about not getting this feature on a mobile - I always view on my mobile!

Hi Annabel and team,

I can't get messaging to work at all this week. When i send private messages they just get stuck in the outbox. And when I try to do it by email instead and get a copy of the email myself, I don't receive the email.

As I need to find a nanny urgently, I really need this to work!

Thanks for the help,

Hi
Thanks for coming back to us and the feedback on the site.

We're constantly working on changes and so your feedback is really important.

Private messages work like this.

When you send a private message it "sits" in your outbox until it's picked up. So until that person logs in and retrieves the message it doesn't leave your outbox. That isn't a problem if the person is a regular user but if they're not then it could sit there for a while.

The best way to make contact is to email someone. When you have logged in you'll see a little contact box by the user name . In the pic below it's just below the FB and Twitter logos

Image

If you click on that you can email them and that means it lands in their email box immediately.

Does that help?

Shout if you need any more help!

Thanks again for using NVN

Thanks for the quick reply - and for the great site!

I tried the email option and ticked the box saying to send the email to me as well. But I haven't received any of the emails myself and I tried it for 4 separate emails. Are you sure this functionality is working?

Thanks,

Hi
I *think* it is but as with everything you never know!

Can you email me and I'll try emailing you and lets see if it works!
