Audi wheels stolen

Postby chg77 » Sun Sep 11, 2016 9:27 pm

Just wanted to post to warn people to be vigilant and aware as our car had its wheels stolen in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The alarm was triggered but the thieves were able to turn it off after a few seconds and were also able to remove the locking nuts.
It looks like they stopped in the road next to our car whilst they removed the wheels then made a quick getaway once they'd finished the job.
It was a pretty slick operation so just check out any suspicious subtle noises if you hear them!!
Not the end of the world but expensive and a pain to come out and find your car up on a brick in the morning!!! :o

Hi there.... Do you mind me asking whereabouts this happened?
This exact thing happened to our neighbour's last month. We're in the Bucharest / Brocklebank Road area off Earlsfield Road.

Oh dear - my sympathies with you especially since I have an Audi with whizzy wheels that has wheel locks which are obviously not up to the job if your experience is anything to go by!

There was a lot of this 30 years ago when two cars were done to neighbours at my old address in Stockwell ( I saw a BMW precariously balanced in the middle by two piles of bricks one morning, the owner about to drive to work and not quite believing what he was seeing) - but I thought with modern wheellocks and alarms this was a thing of the past.

You often saw tatty old cars with shiny brand-new manufacturers wheels running around too!

Hi, we're in Balham, off Chestnut Grove.
Yes my work colleague lives in Bucharest Rd, she told me about that one.
These theives are outwitting the technology! I just hope that once we finally get our car back, (a lot of damage to the underside/chassis from the blasted brick that needs sorting!!) they don't come bank again and steal the new ones!

Oh how annoying!!!! Sorry to hear about this!! This seems to be happening all over Nappy Valley. It has happened to our neighbour on Wroughton road twice. Also our Range Rover's rear lights (the whole light boxes) were stole awhile back. Very professional jobs.
Extremely frustrating!

Sorry to hear about this, nothing more invasive than being a victim of crime. Same thing happened to us on Radbourne RD in Balham about a month ago. They only got 2 of ours so am a bit paranoid they'll be coming back for the others.

Not that I imagine it should help but our case officer was PC Laura Ascott at the Brixton police station.

We've put a load of different type of wheel locks on our car but imagine they probably have the keys for those too.

Hi there,
I've seen your note about your Audi wheels being stolen recently. Unfortuantely we've had the same experience, two wheels stolen in September and replaced at huge cost to ourselves, and now, last night the other two wheels stolen. Both times the car was left balanced on one brick and this happened during the middle of the night. Neither time did our alarm go off which makes me suspect they have a device that can disable the alarm.
Can I ask which Audi dealer you bought your car from and which model? Just trying to establish if there is a link here? Ours is an Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI.
Thanks in advance,
Faye

PS - we are now considering getting bulldog car clamp devices for two road side wheels to stop them coming back again! Might be worth you doing that!

We had our Audi S4 Avant stolen on Sunday night/Monday morning at around 1.30 am. It was taken from Deveraux. We found the door lock drilled out and discarded in the gutter.
I only mention it to make others more aware, there seems little hope of getting it back.
Also, we were so very grateful that we had left nothing of any personal value in the car, other than the brand new car seat which we had only bought that afternoon!

Police took all the details but I've little real hope we will see it again. We were told that theft of cars and theft from cars was pretty common in the area.

Very sorry to read all these posts regarding cars and wheels being stolen. I just wnated to ask if any of you have a Tracker device fitted? I have an Audi S4 and personally I think it is imperative to have such a device fitted to these types of vehicles. Wish you all good luck for the future.

I was in Pentney Road, Balham SW12 yesterday about midday and came across two very upset guys who were doing building work in the street. They told me they'd only been away from their van for 20 mins but in that short time someone had come by, drilled out the lock and stolen all of their tools.

So be aware if you have tools in your van that this can happen very quickly and in broad daylight.

Somewhat ironically, I only turned into Pentney Road because I was following a young lad who was doing the door to door scam claiming to be collecting sponsorship money for Lambeth Lions football club that I've read about on here! I'll put more details about him on the relevant thread.
