Postby Neptune214 » Wed Jun 14, 2017 12:05 pm

Hi all, we are deciding between the two schools and wondered if anyone has had any experiences of either one??
Thanks so much!

Hi. Two good schools to choose between! I have 2 boys at EDS and we are very happy with the school. It's a lot bigger at the bottom end than towards the top and the school is upping its offering as it expands. Optional clubs increase as the children get older. Downside is team sports (due to size) but the children play a lot of multisports and combined year sports in the week. We supplement with extra sport at the weekends so don't regard this as a problem. The school is family-run and nurturing and has good leaver destinations. The wrap around childcare throughout the year is brilliant.

We have children at The White House and we love it. Small schools aren't for everyone but for us it has worked brilliantly. There is a nurturing, family vibe, very 'pastoral' - the children and parents have excellent relationships with the teachers - plus for a small school it really packs a punch academically. The children from different classes mix really well and there's a strong social side for parents. For us it was a bit of a last minute decision, but we have never regretted it for a second.
