Sparks Film School

Fall in love with filmmaking and animation!

Sparks film school is a vibrant hub for aspiring young filmmakers aged from 5 to 18, with filmmaking courses available in Richmond, Ealing, Wimbledon and Teddington, and animation courses in Richmond and Ealing.

Through hands-on workshops, interactive classes and immersive experiences, Sparks provides a fun and dynamic platform for children and teenagers to explore the magical worlds of filmmaking and animation.

Your kids will discover the magic of storytelling through the lens of a camera and become budding directors, screenwriters, actors, animators and producers!

Courses are a week-long running from 22nd July for 4 out of the 6-week holiday period.

Flying Fantastic Aerial Circus Summer Camp

Summer camps are a week full of upside-down fun! Flyers will get the chance to try out the usual equipment of hoop, slings, silks and trapeze whilst also getting the chance to try out some more niche disciplines like Spanish web, aerial rope and aerial net! There will be some complimentary circus skills classes such as juggling, acro and handstands to create a fully rounded circus star by the end of the week! On the Friday there will be a short show for the flyers to show you what they’ve been up to all week.

The Teen Aerial Festival is for teens aged 14 to 18 with the transition from kids’ classes to adult classes in mind. Enjoy the end of exams with a week full of aerial activities! Your teen will cover the core four: silks, slings, hoop and trapeze while also delving into some other disciplines such as straps, Spanish web and corde lisse (rope). They will also work through stretch and flex classes, handstands and act creation workshops to set them up for their future in aerial (or just for fun) and create their own festival performances for the end of the week. (Performance optional, so no pressure)

Julian Cousins Sports Camp

Coaching kids on Clapham Common for over 20 years, this sports camp is run by Julian Cousins and Alberto Kurti, women’s coach with the England football team. On offer is a range of sports including tennis, football, cricket, rugby, hockey, rounders, volleyball and golf. All activities are scaled to age and abilities and all staff are qualified sports coaches and local school teachers experienced in working with young children. There are separate age groups with dedicated coaches.  This is the only programme of its kind on Clapham Common and is the longest running too. Simple games and drills encourage rapid skill development, coordination, footwork, teamwork and most importantly…fun!

Naomi Martin Touch-Typing & Touch-Typing Hub

During this week-long intensive typing course, run throughout the summer holidays in Clapham, Fulham and now Farnham, children will learn to touch-type. Students will be taught a back-to-basics approach – all letter keys are taught, including punctuation and capital letters – and by the end of the week all children will know how to touch-type – the only variant is the speed. Students will learn the importance of having the correct typing posture and proper typing technique is stressed, while being encouraged to focus on accuracy over speed and not to look down at the keyboard. Small group sizes ensure that each student gets the individual attention they need.

• Encourage your child to blow bubbles, play and submerge at bathtime. Make it fun with lots of toys and be prepared to get wet!
• Have fun, even when your child is just sitting on the side splashing their legs. Take it slowly. If you rush them, you may delay the learning process.
• SwimWay advises no floatation aids because your child needs to learn to submerge, float and kick independently. However, if you feel nervous, we recommend armbands over backpacks. Either way, you will need to be in the pool or sea with your child providing support.
