Pupils at Falcons School for Girls have supported the most vulnerable members of their local community with a Harvest Festival filled with musical renditions, recitations and generous donations.
The first celebration of the year for the Putney-based school saw pupils, parents, friends and teachers come together on Friday 13th October to mark the occasion, and fill Harvest baskets with a vast array of produce to supply to those in need.
The girls treated attendees to beautiful musical performances from Lower School, Upper School, Chamber Choir and a Year 5 and 6 Instrumental Ensemble.
The Lower School adored learning Harvest Round, written by headmistress Mrs Sophia Ashworth Jones and showed great energy and agility to perform it as a three-part round. The festival was drawn to a close with True Colours featuring a fantastic solo performance by Lara in Year 6 which was supported by the Chamber Choir and the Upper School.
Falcons School for Girls Headmistress, Mrs Sophia Ashworth Jones commented: “The girls put in an incredible amount of hard work in Religious Education and Drama lessons, which was evident in the confident, poised and enthusiastic class offerings of prayers, poems and speeches. We are immensely proud.
“An overwhelming amount of produce was generously donated by our pupils to the Putney Foodbank. It is incredible to see what we can create when we work together as a whole school.”
