Students, staff and parents at Wimbledon High School are once again today celebrating outstanding results at GCSE. Girls sat a mixture of IGCSEs and the new 9-1 GCSEs, with their increased content.
71% of grades are A*, 9 or 8
92% are A*, A, 9, 8 or 7
98% are A*, A, B, 9 – 5
100% are A*- C, 9-4
Jane Lunnon, Head of Wimbledon High School, said:
“I’m immensely proud of our girls. When the going got tough – and some of these courses really have stepped up quite a few notches academically – they got on with it and rose to the challenge. Amidst the talk of the stresses students felt under nationally, the girls kept calm and under the guidance of our brilliant teachers, have achieved outstanding success as a cohort and, more importantly, individually. These are girls who lead rich co-curricular lives, including Young BAFTA winning Sophia and Kat (for their winning games concept), top sportswomen and exceptional musicians.”
