Friday 21 June, School Service Day will see 1,400 Dulwich College pupils and 200 members of staff helping in community-focused projects and charity-fundraising events. These include: a sponsored football tournament for Year 7s; a sponsored endurance challenge for Year 8s; and a sponsored walk in aid of Save the Children for Year 9s.
Older pupils will be involved in a dozen long-standing volunteering projects, working with foodbanks, local primary schools, King’s College Hospital, care homes and with City Heights E-ACT Academy, our educational partnership school. There will also be a team of rowers picking up litter on the Thames, at Chiswick Eyot; a variety of music bands playing outside the Dulwich Picture Gallery; and a group of over 70 boys gardening in Dulwich Park.
Dulwich College has an enduring commitment to philanthropy, service and partnerships, embedded since its foundation 400 years ago, on 21 June 1691, as part of Edward Alleyn’s charitable mission.
