Hi
Not sure if this is any use but there was a piece in today's Telegraph.

I've scanned it in and attached it below - the quality is pretty good so it should be readable on anything bigger than a phone!

So feedback... Went to Le Quecumbar on Saturday and it was mixed. Food was basic, wine not much better. Atmosphere was amazing but music so loud very difficult to have a conversation. We really enjoyed trying something different but not sure we'll go back.

Counter Culture booked for next Saturday!

Please keep the ideas rolling in....

My favourites place for date night with my husband is Counter Culture at the front of The Dairy in Clapham Old Town. The food is incredible. You can watch the chef cooking and best of all it is BYO. Other great places are Unwined in Tooting Market and Plot in Broadway Market. Both really different but fab. Enjoy!

When I lived in Wandsworth some years ago and I frequented Le Quecum Bar, I would have the charcuterie platter and wine. The charcuterie platter was neither spectacular nor bad however very unmemorable, if I recall correctly. I can, however, recall the stage and how close the tables are to it, how really wonderful the trio was who played that day / afternoon / evening and the very memorable chat with the musicians afterward.

I now live nearer to Wimbledon Chase area hence the Raynes Park / Wimbledon recommendations so I've regrettably not been to Le Quecum Bar in some time. I don't even know if they still serve that charcuterie platter...

I would still highly recommend going though. As this_is_cat says, it's for the atmosphere. I'm sure you'll have a memorable lovely night out (and please come back and tell us if you do! and the food!)

Le Cucum Bar is great fun, but the food is quite basic

But the music more than makes up for it, and it's always a great atmosphere!

Noel Coward Private Lives at Lantern Arts Theatre in Raynes Park

Sunny Afternoon at Wimbledon Theatre (I saw the West End one and it was fantastic)

Fun lively jazz at Le Quecum Bar http://quecumbar.co.uk/ in Battersea.

Live opera over dinner at Little Bay. http://www.littlebay.co.uk/ though I think you may need to go into town as when the Battersea one burnt down, I don't know if it was ever rebuilt...

How about the Blues Kitchen in Brixton or The Hideaway in Streatham

Has anyone got any ideas for something a bit different for a date night with my hubby? Pre-children we were always going to different live music venues from pop to rock to opera to country. Only problem is it's this Saturday. Any ideas welcome!!
