Yes, I think you can leave sooner than 8 months and still be eligible for Maternity pay, but it depends how long you have been working for her.
She also has to be careful in terms of getting rid of you. Yes, she can claim that she needs a live-in nanny, but she has to be careful because as a pregnant woman you could easily claim unfair dismissal, especially ash she isn't being sensitive to your situation.
