Thank you so much everyone. I have reached out to The Traditional Shutter Company.

Hi

We recently used The Traditional Shutter Company (www.thetraditionalshuttercompany.co.uk), and are very happy with our cafe shutters. We also have a north-facing room, and only wanted half-height.

We had got a quote from Plantation Shutters, who were marginally cheaper, but their lead times were much longer (10-12 weeks?), and their shutters come from China, so there could have been delays on top, given the current situation.

The Traditional shutters are made in E Europe, and were fitted within four weeks of the survey. They were also very friendly and knowledgeable, taking time to help me decide exactly what we wanted. Their shutters are also solid wood, not MDF (which Plantation are) - to be honest, I’m not sure it really matters, we had MDF at our previous house and they were lovely too. It was really the delivery time that influenced our choice, and the cost difference was pretty marginal.

Hope that’s some help.

We used Planatation Shutters ( plantation-shutters.co.uk ) around 2 years ago.

I was happy with their service, I remember the lead time was more than I expected (seem to remember 10 weeks), but not sure if this is normal. They're obviously made to measure, and I think are shipped from Asia.We had a quote of another company I cannot remember the name, and PS were marginally cheaper.

We went with half-height, and we're happy with them, it depends on how much light comes through your windows I think. Ours are north facing so we felt full-height shutters, even open, will block out too much light.

Hope that helps.
Robin

Recommendations for shutters

Can anyone recommend a shutter company that they have used.

Also not sure what style to go for so I'd be very grateful to hear what others have chosen and if they are happy with their choice? Mostly pondering half or full window shutters? Thank you for any offers of help?
