My husband stopped using cash about 7 years ago. I stopped two or three years ago. We don’t even get foreign currency when we go abroad. Cash is dying a death whether you like it or not. I actually find it really liberating. I can go out with just my phone - I don’t need anything else. It’s not surprising banks are closing - why does anyone need to go into one when everything can be done online? The last of the Internet-refuseniks will soon be gone and then doing banking online will be a no-brainer. I’m sorry for the elderly that find the modern world confusing but I think that probably happens for every generation when it gets old. You can’t stop progress whether you like it or not (or even think it’s progress!)

Banks are closing branch’s (so recently Barclays, Santander, NatWest have also shut), but also notice many banks here are reducing tier opening hours and days.

Lloyds are Halifax are 2 of the worst for this.

This is all part of the anti cash agenda, banks and Elites are making cash more and more convenient. Soon they will push on us the digital pound, also known as a Central Bank Digital currency (CBDC).

The Bank of England and Government are doing scam consultations on introducing a CBDC (Google it), to then push it on us. It will be a dark day to lose cash and there is no going back.

So please do 2 things as much as possible  :-

1) Use cash as much as possible now …

2 BOYCOTT business that don’t take cash. walking down Northcote Road there are so many (eg Gail’s, Ole, Blacksheet etc) . And tell them this. We need to start a movement for this, maybe one weekend a month there is only cash used.

if you are a business owner, make sure you take cash please. Also, can a business owner please post how much they paid last year in card fees, it’s mental amount of money that gets added to the cost of their sales.

if we use more cash, the banks will need to hang around longer!
