Hello Trinka, Firstly, this is a really interesting thread and I applaud you for asking the question. However, I think the brutal reality is that we are light years away from this materialising as the norm in many FO positions within investment banks. I believe there are several reasons for this: 1....

Re: Motherism

Thanks nvmof3 - I didn't see this article but have read it now and have to say, I am pretty fed up with psychologists, social commentators and politicians writing about how I should live my life and raise my family. Whatever decision you have made for whatever reason is yours and yours alone and you...

Re: Clinic for Newborn Son Circumcision Needed

You have got to love these cultural differences... My sister lives in the US and her second son was born by emergency c-section at 31 weeks (he is absolutely fine now). After the first 24 hours (which were extremely critical) and he moved onto about a 50/50 chance of survival and the doc took my sis...

Re: Do you give your au pairs holiday pay?

I don't have an aupair but agree that you absolutely should pay her holiday pay as presumably you want her to be there when you get back? even though you may not have an official contract with her as such she has got living expenses whilst you are away.

All the advice from payroll managers (nannyt...

Successful primary school application outside Wandsworth?

So as it has been a while since this topic has come up...I'm curious to hear about anyones experiences of getting a primary school place outside Wandsworth. Now that the admissions process is all online, it seems like a much more straightforward to apply across boroughs but wondering whether it actu...

Where to buy stylish week-end wear?

Don't mean this post to be trivial but I want to update my week-end wardrobe (maybe even venture away from the jeans! and anything black, grey or white) and there doesn't seem to be anywhere out there that sells anything very inspiring... Mentally I still think I can get away with TopShop (physicall...
