Re: PLEASE everyone, tweet your MP and ask for a meaningful vote.

Yes 48.1% of the country voted to remain in the EU (and I was one of them) but 51.9% voted to leave so we now just have to take a deep breath and get on with it. And while we may think Theresa May has not been given anor electoral mandate to do this, I certainly didn't vote for any if the Eurocrats ...

Crisis in East Africa

I was watching Channel 4 news this evening as they reported from the increasingly difficult situation in Sudan and wondering what would be the best charity to donate to and also do some fund raising for. I think the DEC has run a recent campaign but Save the Children also have an appeal on. Is anyon...

Rollerdisco party

We went to the pop rollerdisco at the Southbank and my DD is now very keen to have a rollerdisco party. Definitely not an option to host at home  but I'm wondering if there are any church halls that might work. Does anyone have any experience of organising one of these types of partys before?

Re: Careers advice for young girl

Also worth noting that role models can be all sorts of people of different ages, genders and backgrounds and not just those that we might automatically associate with being a role model. Unconscious bias starts at a very early age but the sooner we know what our biases (we all have them and they are...

Re: Careers advice for young girl

Having (or getting) a man is not a plan. My advice would be to aim high and dream big. I have 2 daughters I tell them every night that they are amazing and can do anything in the world and that they definitely don't need to rely on anyone else to achieve their ambitions. PS - I work full time in a m...
