Re: croatia

Wondering if anyone else has any tips for hotels around Split or on one of the Islands for my family? Would prefer somewhere smaller/boutique rather than a big resort. Thanks!

Re: Thomas's Battersea, Newton Prep or Merlin

I have only experience of Thomas's Battersea and it is a really wonderful place with so much going on and they continue to develop new and fun ways of learning. It is a very "busy" school with a lot going on for children and parents alike but there really is something for every child to ha...

Re: Charities working with refugees - charity song

Check this out if you haven't already www.helpiscoming.org put together by the brilliant and indefatigable Caitlin Moran.

Re: Do you want elite athletes looking after your children?

I think this is a great idea - I don't have a need at the moment but will certainly keep your agency in mind when I do.

Re: Recommendations for lovely local restaurant for birthday

London House or Queenswood both in Battersea Sq. Both really great and prove that you don't need to travel across the river for a lovely evening out.

Re: Battersea Park closed due to Formula E

I was going to be a supporter of this event as it is literally on my door step but as there are huge sections of the park that are already inaccessible (fencing, one way systems, lorries and cranes etc) while they set up more than two weeks beforehand I have changed my mind. The organisers don't see...

Re: Have you had your colours 'done'?

Would highly recommend...I had no idea how much black I was wearing until someone pointed it out. Was also wearing clothes that were way too big after 4 years of pregnancy/breastfeeding outfits. Makes shopping so much simpler but it ended up being a rather expensive exercise as I had to throw out ab...

Re: Wd you let yr 2-3 yo go on a coach with a lap-only seatb

I wouldn't let my little one go on the trip and it sets a dangerous precedent for the nursery thinking that this is ok.

Re: SAHM?

Agree with much of what has been said here and feel like I have a lot yo say on this topic too but my one piece of advice is that everyone will offer an opinion but no one knows what is right for you and your family. Little ones grow up fast but you have to be happy with your decision whatever you d...

Re: Husband wants to go on holiday on his own

Really feel for you on this - where does he plan to go and with whom? I think he is being a bit naive assuming that 4 months back packing on how own is going to be much fun unless it was some sort of organised charitable project or similar. I assume there are going to be things he is going to miss o...

Activities in August?

Hello all - wondering if anyone knows of any camps (arty, sporty or anything really) that might be suitable for my daughters (ages 5 and 3) ideally in Wandsworth/central London. Looking to get a few things in the diary for August. Thanks very much!

Re: Calling all NV dog ownera

I have a message for the dog owner that lobs his/her little bag of dog sh*t over the fence and into my front garden - in future I will leave the gate open so feel free to walk on in and throw it in the bin properly.

Re: Apology to working women from a female boss

Very well said Pigeon pair...and yes if you have got a challenging PT job which is rewarding I think quite a few would be envious of that position - me included! Sadly I think PT roles in many industries are not a real proposition right now and by that I consider working 4 days a week as not really ...

Re: Apology to working women from a female boss

Agree that I think she is being very honest but as a woman working in a male dominated environment it is men that need to change their attitudes to working parents too. We have come along way since my mother was working in the 70s but hopefully when my daughters have joined the work force we (workin...
