Thank you for the recommendation for Rayners, they were great, very efficient and not that expensive...think bi may have set a bit of a precedent for all my family joining us next year too though!

Re: Digging out a Basement - doing the Sums

We did ours last year (my husband was very keen) and we have ended up with a great space - playroom/family room, spare bedroom, bathroom and utility room but I can honestly say that we haven't really used it yet. Our girls are too young to play there on their own and we spend way more of our time as...

Somehow my whole family has invited themselves over for Christmas, which I am looking forward to with a mixture of excitement and apprehension in equal measure and we do not have a table big enough to accommodate everyone. Best place to see Father Christmas

Am I too late in getting something organised?! The grotto at Duke of Yorks Sq has sold out for all the week-ends until Christmas and I don't fancy venturing in to the west end. Any other suggestions on where we could meet him? Thanks!

Visit to Santa (Lapland) or Disneyland Paris?

Hello - wondering which would be better for my two girls ages 2.5 and 4.5 who are absolutely crazy about princesses and I think they would love Disneyland (me probably not so much!). Thinking about booking a package trip in both cases and would love to hear about people's experiences.

Re: not sure about school play dates

Petal - I am new to this too as my daughter has just started school as well and I also find it a bit odd as the pick up from nursery was so strict (passwords, approved persons etc). I have to say I haven't organised any play dates at all as I have just started a new job although my daughter has aske...

4 year old won't stay in bed

Somewhat ironically just as I have managed to get my 2 year old to sleep through the night my 4 year old is now up and out of her bed, wandering round the house and trying to get into our bed up to 20 times in the middle of the night! It is worse than having a newborn and I'm feeling desperately tir...

Re: Is this discrimination?

Oh and I think you might be surprised that you would not loose your informal flexible working arrangements by leaving if you were able to identify that the culture of any new employer embraced this type of behaviour from the outset. It sounds like the culture of your team is not necessary supportive...
