No, it's not true. In previous years offers have been made of selective places to those with scores of as low as 96% and above. But the first round of offers might be made only to those with 100%. Is the ill-will from local residents to do with the fact that the building used to be a community library? If that's the case and from their point of view, closing the free library that everyone could use at no cost in order to open a school they can't afford to use must be irritating in the extreme...

My son went to Belleville, and a huge advantage in our experience was that year 6 classes were small - four classes of just 20 children each.

I think those small classes were a factor in so many children going on to selective senior and grammar schools, certainly in his year.
