My son, now 20 and at university went to Dulwich College at 11, it was them that picked up his dysgraphic tendencies, all boys were screened on entry at 11 for any problems and referred on for further assessment (at parents expense) . I think this still happen...

Replacing kitchen unit doors

Our kitchen has vinyl wrapped doors and they are starting to peel and disintegrate, we have looked at trying to peel it off and repaint them but it's not a good finish. Can anyone recommend a company that will come and replace the door and drawer fronts for us?

Re: Buying next door and knocking through

I know people in Lambeth who did just that, I am not sure if they tried to get planning permission, but they did keep the two houses utility supplies separate and I assume had to pay 2x council tax so possibly not. They kept both front doors but only used one, so outside appearance was unaltered. Ho...

Re: Call to mums of 16 yrs old girls - please help!

Personally I think you should not betray her trust. She's 16 and what she may do is not illegal. It's fantastic she confides in you, but she won't if you tell your sister and it could be important in the future for her to have someone to confide in. By all means let her know you are in a difficult p...

Re: Carpet Shop Recommendation required

Have used both Marlows and Bowloom and very happy with both, Bowloom fitters were marvellous and really helpful, refitting all the carpets around my radiators after a heating engineer had been at no extra charge (they were here to do a stair carpet) but they were a little more expensive.

Sorry I should have also said I know of several children who repeated a year in private school and thrived. Their parents feel with hindsight they should have started a year later in reception.

Re: August born child - delaying school start in private sch

If you are planning on staying in the private sector I don't think it is a long term problem, both my boys (currently yr 11 and 13) have children in their classes who are both a year ahead of themselves and a year behind in age. the only problems they have encountered is in Games where they are not ...
