Re: Childcare cost - less than £1500 pm in Clapham junction?

We pay £45 a day for a childminder in balham, which is about average (and she's great). And as someone else mentioned, there are nurseries in the area which are cheaper, around £50 a day, but maybe it's an SW12 / SW11 thing.

Re: Catholic primary school admission criteria

Does anyone who has experience of applying for Holy Ghost know how quickly the waiting list goes down a) between the April offers and the September term start date, and b) in years 2, 3 etc? We attend mass every week as it's our parish but live too far for our child to get in. I was just wondering w...

Re: can anyone recommend an estate agent?

I have found Douglas and Gordon very good and have bought and sold through them. Don't be scared to try to knock down the fee. We asked and they agreed to a good % drop in their commission (can't remember how much but saved us a few thousand)

Re: Kingston or Chelsea & Westminster?

I had a very positive birth at C&W. Antenatal and post natal care were both excellent, the only problem was the availability of midwives but I think that's the case at any hospital on a particularly busy day. Good luck!

Re: Wedding Venue Idea

We had ours with about 120 people at the county arms on trinity road. Not "pretty" as such but lovely and relaxed, cosy fires, excellent food, excellent staff, fantastic venue. Highly recommended.

primary schools - holy ghost, st anselms, st boniface

Hello Mums (and dads) I'm trying to navigate the complicated schools admissions process and was wondering if any of you experienced parents could give any advice. I'd like my child to go to a catholic school in our local area (we live in Balham). We wouldn't have a problem getting a reference from o...
