Re: semi private small room for dinner

We had a brilliant dinner in a private room at 10 Cases. The wine was fantastic, and the staff took time to explain its provenance, and how it paired with the food.

Re: Living with a child on Queenstown Road?

We lived just off Queenstown road behind the church for 3 years. It was a lovely neighbourhood, and as others have said, excellent transport and proximity to parks. We were equidistant to Clapham Common and Battersea Park, and had a little fenced playground directly opposite our house. Transport lin...

Re: Santa's Grotto, Duke of York Square

I have exactly the same problem on the 10th, but it's the grown ups who have been invited to a party. Our slot is at 5:40, and could do with going an hour earlier - if the hour later makes it work better for you?
It's only for 1 child though, so I'm not sure it will work.

Warwick Castle - recommend?

Has anyone been to Warwick Castle? I'm looking for some good weekend days out with my 5yo son, and don't think I could stomach Lego Land or similar. Is there enough to see/do to keep an energetic boy entertained? Is it more "history meets Disney" -- and is that okay? Any reviews appreciated!

Re: Warm winter school trousers?

I found some heavier ones at John Lewis. They're not lined, but are a nice heavy quality.
No idea if they come in navy though.

Re: Paediatrician/baby

You might also investigate other food allergies. Corn and artificial food dyes are both notorious for sparking extreme behavioural reactions in children who are allergic. I was diagnosed with a corn allergy as an adult, and was really surprised to learn this in my research. My son also suffered terr...

Re: Gymnastics for a 5 year old - advice please!

I second the recommendation for Litte Gym in Smugglers way. They have summer camps on now, and it might be the right amount of commitment to see if she's interested.
The instructors are also great with kids, and keep it age appropriately fun and interesting in addition to learning gym skills.

Re: Brandlehow School - Another reception class needed?

I was wondering if you also heard anything about this year's reception class. We're anxiously awaiting our fate! I seem to remember that Brandlehow had an expansion class in their 2012 or 2013 intake, bringing their total to 60. That might account for the bumper crop of siblings in this year's nurse...

Re: Cabin bed for 3 year old

I recently bought a Julian Bowen cabin bed for my 3 year old son off eBay for about a quarter of the retail cost. It was a new bed, and had been used as a display unit in a children's furniture boutique that had closed down. It appears to be very good quality, solid and seriously heavy. There are hu...

Re: Planes landing at 4:45 am!

I think in my delirium I forgot that it is 5 that they can land rather than 6. It was just quite a shock to wake up to and definitely louder than usual.
