Re: Website connecting Ukrainian refugees to UK households

We registered on a website called www.opora.uk which has a database to link hosts and Ukrainian refugees. We linked up with a lady on this site and after some chats we completed the visa application form for her. Hopefully it won't take too long for it to come through though she also has to get out ...

Re: Tutoring on top of private prep school

I wouldn’t do coaching unless my child was particularly weak in one subject or is dyslexic or some other educational difficulty. Our thinking was that if our children couldn’t get into a particular secondary school without tutoring then it was the wrong school for them as I certainly wasn’t going to...

Re: Teen behaviour. Help.

I agree with the last poster that locked door plus no eating could just possibly be a sign of a more serious problem than just annoying teenager hood. Talking is key but this is not always easy. I would suggest doing an activity with her such as getting a pedicure or go weekend break as someone sugg...

Petnanny's owner is very experienced with dogs and we have really enjoyed looking after the dogs that have stayed with us. Lik...

Re: Electric car charging point fitter recommendations

I've seen a car charging with wire across the pavement in Temperley Road. They put one of those rubber wire guards over the wire to make it safer but still not great. Could be a safety issue and you don't want to end up getting sued...

Re: Help Please! Son Has $ Cheque Needs To Cash - But Building Soc Can't Help

I regularly pay in USD dividend cheques to my Barclays account. The transaction fee is around £5 but the exchange rate you get isn't great. Just go to the foreign currency window and tell them you need to pay in a USD cheque to your account

Re: Replacing kitchen unit doors

We used www.kitchendoorworkshop.co.uk to get new kitchen doors for our kitchen. They have a large choice of excellent quality doors. Our kitchen is transformed with the new doors. The only problem is that you have to measure up yourself and get someone in to fit them if you're not a good DIY'er eg m...

We used Paul Spanswick of Ceramic and Stone. Tel: 07958 534522. REally nice guy and he did a great job. Since seen him on multiple occasions doing tiling in the area. He also laid a new step and did the railings plus repaired the hallway tiles.
