Beautiful handmade jewellery from California...

A Californian friend of mine makes this beautiful handmade jewellery as a hobby. Each piece is unique. A Steel Trap gift would either make a great Xmas present for a loved one or just look amazing on yourself (PS, I don't own 'shares in the business', just trying to help out a friend who loves makin...

Hand crafted Californian jewelry...

Came across this site when looking for some beautiful jewelry as an Xmas prez. Bespoke jewellery, hand made to order, direct from California. Whats not to like? Sadly I don't own shares in the business (nor live in California), so that's not why I'm posting. Just thought as everything is hand crafte...

CLIFF RICHARD

Trying to look ahead to the summer holidays, what activities would you recommend booking to keep a little 5 year old boy occupied Mon-Fri? Both mum and dad work, so we need a few courses etc to sign him up to. Any local recommendations? Thank you!

Re: Its cold out! Top 10 winter days out?

Yes, thats a good shout Cubed, also been there with our little boy - twice! London Zoo as well of course is an obvious choice if not too cold. Although our DS1 freaked at a snake that lunged at the glass front while he was stood looking! Both places expensive of course. The Museum of Childhood on th...

Re: Meet the Leader of Wandsworth Council

My question to the leader - in these austere times would he consider raising a car tax levy against female drivers who spend their days clogging up the roads around NVN in over sized Chelsea tractors that are dangerous and have no place in an urban environment other than as a snobby status symbol? T...

Re: Meet the Leader of Wandsworth Council

My question to the leader: would he agree that based on pupil projections for the coming years (that show there is a forecast deficit of places) there is a need for a new secondary school in a part of Wandsworth that does not currently have one?

Re: Meet the Leader of Wandsworth Council

My question: would the leader agree with the following statement? For the sake of some balance on the Forthbridge site issue, it's not 'only fair' that because you live close to the overspill site you get priority access to that building. When this was consulted on some months back, the council made...

Re: I think I need anger management help

I wouldn't beat yourself up about this. I haven't met a single parent yet where the 'red mist' has not come down at some stage (including myself with our 3.5 year old). I imagine it's a scenario the vast majority of parents are all too familiar with (am talking about red faced anger/shouting here no...

Window Cleaners

Could anyone suggest a good window cleaner please for SW11? The chap we used to use charged £60 because he would ony do inside and out. Not bad for 30 mins work. So if you have any names then that would be great. Thank you.

Re: 15 years old from Europe- where to go to educate?

As a starting point I would contact both Lambeth and Wandsworth councils. They will be able to advise on school options. If you are making no progress or need more help then it may be worth contacting your local MP at some stage. Needless to say when you end up with a short list of possible options ...

STEINER SCHOOLS - GOOD OR BAD?

What thoughts, anecdotes or experiences does anyone have with regard to Steiner schools? We get conflicting views - they appear to engender either a love or hate viewpoint with little inbetween. It would be helpful to hear any thoughts and see what people feel about Steiner schools? Are they racist ...

WHO GOT THEIR SCHOOL OF CHOICE?

Secondary school offers posted out yesterday - how many of us got our first choice? Did anyone get offered a school not on their original list? Would be interesting to hear what people feel and see what they have to say on the subject of school offers?

Re: NSC reply to the Daily Mirror article

For those interested in the facts, the following relates to ARK Schools GCSE student outcomes: Official GCSE figures released in Jan 2011 confirmed that ARK Schools has secured a fourth year of improved GCSE performances across its academies. ARK’s 5 academies with GCSE results achieved an average...

Re: Open letter on possible Bolingbroke school

ready2pop - I can only refer you to my last post. The more those who oppose the school on ideological and partisan grounds continue to do so, the more I will continue to post - and if you, Talkman or anyone else finds that uncomfortable then that is a small price worth paying. I have no agenda other...
