There's an English school based at Dulwich College over the summer. It's not run by Dulwich but they use the facilities. There is boarding and they go on day trips too. Sorry I can't remember the name of the organisation but my friend works there every summer
We have a zinc roof - it's lovely, so neat and efficient!
The architect was Stala Antoniades.
Her website is down at the moment for updating but her email is stala@stalaantoniades.co.uk
I met her through NCT
I think rail passengers debouching at Balham Station will get worse when Crossrail 2 arrives. I wanted it to go through Tooting overground station. I wrote to the 'comments welcome' respondents email about Crossrail 2 when we could submit comments and the answer I received was that more people would...
Well done for having the entrepreneurial spirit (had to spell check that!). It's such a difficult one, and whilst not wanting to put you off I am inclined to agree with the others. The idea of pop-up stalls is good. I don't know what it is about Abbeville Rd but people seem to have perceptions and i...
We do this every night. Stick with it. Even now, months into the rule we still have smuggled devices (accidentally  ) being left in bedrooms - it's so wearing. It really stretches out bedtime. It's not foolproof as we've come down in the morning and found phones missing from plugs - obviously ...
Last night on the News at 10 the reporter was broadcasting from Mexico City. Behind him the volunteers had their hands raised asking for silence - his next statement beggars belief: 'they are raising hands asking for silence' - and I don't think he was being ironic. Later, he stated he was reporting...
Hi. Streatham houses definitely give you tons of house for your money. My advice would be if you are looking at state primary schools for the future check the catchment areas - there are some 'dead spots' in Streatham where you could fall between all the stools. I think the new Dunraven primary will...
In one respect 'actuallyadad' is right - some of the things you agonise over or spend £1000's on aren't necessarily worth it.. - You wouldn't believe the conversation I had with a friend about all the different nuances of white! - A kitchen from IKEA with snazzy worktops might be the right thing - D...
 I had to write in because actuallyadad made me laugh so much! I think it's really exciting and wish you all the best. My friend who had done it a year before us told us - buy EVERYTHING before you start, light switches, plug fittings, door handles, door locks, everything....we didn't and 6 yea...
Megaflows are massive so you don't have that much choice!
We've got ours in a double cupboard we created in the hallway.
I'd recommend you start with where the flue will exit and work backwards.
The thing I did in the showroom was to check that the oven tray could fit in my sink. I did this after a woman at work told me how she'd bought an extra wide oven and then had to resort to washing the oven tray in the garden!
Back to the original question - one point that nobody has mentioned is that at Emanuel the pass mark for siblings is lower than for other kids. We went to an open day a few years ago and the Headteacher mentioned the school's results not being as good as other private schools (at that time, maybe no...
Mmmm, this is interesting. I haven't been to the Birdhouse but I may saunter past - many many years ago when my son was small we went to a tiny cafe on St John's Hill with a small garden and the manager was very rude to us because my son was picking up (not throwing) stones and then he dropped flake...
