Re: simultaneous Swimming lessons for 4 y-o and 18month old?

thanks for the response! I've been trying to track down a swim school that runs both age group classes at the same time (or back to back so there's not too much waiting around!) so they can properly learn at their own level.....not easy!

simultaneous Swimming lessons for 4 y-o and 18month old?

My son is nearly 5, and I'm looking for some good swimming lessons for him preferably on the weekend. He did 2 years of Waterbabies, then has done various classes since then through both nursery and booked ourselves, but school now don't do any swimming with them for another year so we're looking fo...

Re: What amazing new things do people do?

I used to work crazy hours in Television and travel a lot which I loved, but was not the most obvious career choice as a new mother! I went to night school whilst on maternity leave as I just wanted/needed to get out of the house and "do something else" and inadvertently retrained as a mil...

Grown-up birthday lunch restaurant recommendations

Hello, It's my mum's birthday in a few weeks, and rather than going out for supper, she's decided she'd like to go out for lunch instead and take our 4 1/2 year old with us (he's generally well behaved!). Anyone got any good recommendations local or north of the river? It would be a saturday! Thanks...

Playball or Sharky and George party?!

Hello, I'm trying to decide what to do for entertainment for my son's 5th birthday party. Previously we've done Playball parties which have been a big hit, but I'm tempted to do something different this year. I've been to a good Sharky and George party, but I've heard slightly mixed reviews, so just...

Our amazing Nanny/Housekeeper available 2 days p/w

Our brilliant Filipina Nanny/Housekeeper is looking for work 2 days per week. She's worked for us a few days per week for the last 6 months and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She helps with (and has sole charge of) our 4 year old and 15 month old, both of whom adore her, and our house has bee...

Bristowclean - carpet cleaning recommendation

Just wanted to add a thumbs-up for Bristow Clean, who I found recommended on here when I was looking for someone to come and clean our carpets. He was very good, reasonably priced, our fitted carpets have come up as new, and he took away and returned a rug of ours that needed specialist dry cleaning...

Re: Eaton House The Manor Nursery

Hi, Can't give you a "comparison" as my son was only ever at Eaton House Nursery - but all I can say is that he had a fantastic time (finished there in June), and we were really delighted with it, and our daughter will hopefully be going there herself once she's a bit bigger. He had masses...

Lost Siamese Cat

Hello, I was wondering if anyone might have spotted our cat Inca who has been missing since Wednesday. We live on Grandison Rd towards Common end and on the Leathwaite Rd side. He's a blue-point Siamese (beige/grey colour) and likes to play in other gardens, however it is very out of character for h...

Re: Dreadful mobile reception....anyone else?!

Thanks for all the responses......I called Vodafone and explained the problem (fairly sure they didn't believe me!) anyway, after asking when my contract was up (which was Feb next year) and me saying cancel the contract I'll use someone else...they said they would have to charge me to cancel it, or...

Dreadful mobile reception....anyone else?!

We've recently moved to Clapham (Grandison Rd) and find that I have virtually no phone reception at home, and in certain areas of Northcote Rd/Clapam Common etc.... I'm on Vofdafone, but thinking of switching networks if anyone can tell me that their network works well in these parts!!

Re: Capital Carpets, Northcote Road

used them v recently, and also found the shop a bit of a pain, plus having used John Lewis in the past who give you a proper breakdown of each room in terms of size, cost of underlay, and carpeting in each room, Capitol just gave us one big number and very little by the way of breakdown. So after en...

Window boxes!

Have just moved, and am wanting to get/have made/planted some window boxes. Can anyone recommend a company that can come and do this for us, and possibly maintain them?! Is it extortionate?! WOuld do this myself, but to say that I'm hopeless with plants, would be generous!
