Re: Abacus vs Asquith Nurseries in Balham

My 3 year old is at the asquith nursery and has been since she was 9 months old. We are really happy with it. It is friendly, caring and has a nice atmosphere. She loves it. She's been off for the last couple of weeks for Christmas ands has been asking to go for the last couple of days. Ivor a high ...

Anyone know a local charity to donate presents to?

Hi all, I feel like I have spoilt my children this year with Christmas presents (volume rather than cost) and would really like to give someone else a better Christmas. Mindful of the current economic climate I'm sure there are local children whose families won't be able to give gifts this year. Doe...

Re: Pregnant and just found out he is married.

Then what DID you talk about if not the baby? Otherwise why are you having dinner with him? Angry at his wife for (according to posts so far) nothing she has done? Sounds like you still have feelings for him that you probably need to work out in therapy of some sort? I would imagine navigating all t...

Re: Pregnant and just found out he is married.

Speaking as someone who's husband has cheated - I would want to be told especially now there is a child involved. She deserves to be able to make here decisions in an informed way. It always upset me that I wasn't given that- I chose to stay with him after a year separated and lots of effort on his ...

Photography course?

I would love to learn how to take a good photo (of my family mainly) as I am tired of having to take 100 for every decent one. Easier with digital but still annoying. Does anyone know of any local courses for absolute beginners with no aspirations beyond the family mantelpiece? Thanks!

Re: No 1 cake tin??

My mum always made us number cakes for all our birthdays (covered in smarties- bit of a family tradition now, all grandchildren get it now too). She just used to make a large square sponge and cut it into shape. Does waste sponge (although always a few small hands around to make light work of off cu...

Re: Woodentops or Asquiths?

My daughter is at asquiths and has been for about 2 years now. We have been really happy with it. The staff are caring and friendly. She always loves it, to the point that if I finish work early I don't pick her up early as she tends to get upset she is leaving early! Outside space is great. Their e...

Re: curtain maker

We have just had two sets of curtains made by an online company- took a risk but their online reviews were very good. They have extensive range of fabrics and get samples out quickly. Actually went for a cheaper fabric (£14 ish I think) as with cost of curtains generally just couldn't justify any mo...

Re: Brazilian hair straightening - recommendations

I had my hair done by Marta at home. Don't have her contact details on me but she has a website- smoothmyhair.Co.uk. She's really lovely and very reasonable cost wise. Would definitely recommend her

Re: Do you know of anyone who has made an affair "work"

Have come across a few affairs over the course of my life- yet to see one that didn't end up in the destruction of someone/ family along the way. Sorry. That said my dad has been seemingly happily married to the woman he left my mum to be with for over 25 years. Again though his relationship with us...

When did you stop using a baby monitor?

We have new baby due in October at which time our daughter will be 2 years 8 months old. We are going to move her into a bed in next few weeks so hopefully she'll be well settled into that by then. She does still wake up sometimes, especially if she has a cold, and I'm not good at just leaving her. ...

Re: Toddler Duvet Cover

Out of interest how old is your toddler? And what provoked the move to a bed? Just wondering as am thinking about this for my 28 month old daugter. We have another on way in oct so am getting really twisted around in regards to timings! Don't want to move her too early just for new baby but also don...
