Re: Unhappy with Nursery & urgently need to move

What problems have you been having out of interest? My daughter is in nursery (not yours as we don't live near you!) but I am always concerned I am too laid back about it all and maybe should be more demanding! Don't get me wrong I am very happy with our nursery but just interested in what problems ...

Local paedophile?

We have received a letter via second class post, all typed and unsigned claiming that one our neighbours (who we don't know) is a paedophile. They claim to know this as they themselves are also a paedophile and they met online. They say they have written as "***** has started talking crazy sugg...

Re: Help! Family holiday needed!

We went to Porto sani village last year on recommendation from a local travel agent and it was brilliant. Rooms (suites) were beautiful and spacious. So many options for places to eat. Crèche and baby sitting with beach and pool options. Bike hire, tennis and watersports for older people. Fully int...

Good divorce lawyer?

Rather depressing topic especially at this time of year but I think I need to visit a lawyer- currently just to get information and establish my position, but who knows what the new year will bring. I have no idea how to find one so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? Thanks

Re: Good Carpenter for fitted shelves?

We just had beautiful cupboards for toys and a bookshelf made to measure. We used the chiswick woodworking company (they have a great website but can't link it, it comes up in google). The customer care and follow up was excellent and the work is beautiful- we were really pleased. I didn't get lots ...

Re: Help! Car seat Houdini!

Snap! On both the 20 month old girl and ability to get arms out no matter how tight the straps. We were even at traffic lights the other day when two policemen walked by and I pointed them out to her. They gave me a very funny look and it wasn't until afterwards I realised they must have thought she...

Re: Mom of two need advice

We are currently looking for exactly the same thing- with just a 19 month old girl. Am quite nervous as only second time away with her (first was city and she was only three months so much easier).

Had seen Porto sani resort in halkidiki but not sure about it

Will watch this post closely!

Iron gate and railings repair

Hi, we live in the Heaver estate and have the usual iron railings and gate. On Friday night some very kind (and presumably strong) person managed to get the gate off it's hinge and snap it. I am now looking for someone to fix it but all I can seem to find is installers. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Balham Day Nursery

My little girl who is also 18 months is also there. She loves it and the staff. She took a while to settle even though she has been there since 9 months old- she's a bit of a mummy's girl- and has only just stopped crying when I leave her (she does it at home if I go into the kitchen so no reflectio...

Re: recommendation for baby friendly GP around Northcote Road

Am a doctor myself (not a GP) and would recommend you have a look at their qualifications- ie MRCGP (exam they don't have to do but shows a level of dedication and knowledge) and for kids- Dip. CH (diploma of child health) which is also extra exam in childrens issues. Obviously doesn't guarantee bed...

Re: Aaarrrrrrgh keys down drain- ideas?!?!

Thanks for all the suggestions! It was complicated by plopping into watery (I hope water- not much rain recently!) sludge. Meant I couldn't even see it. However we phoned the council at 8:30 this morning and they were with us an rescued the key by 10:30! Really amazing service- at a significantly lo...
