Re: Playgroups for 1 year old in Wandsworth Common Area

There's pretty much a Playgroup at every church so that's always a good place to look. I know on Thursdays there are playgroups at the Church of the Ascension, Malwood Road and St Luke's, Ramsden Road. Also the Salvation Army runs a group on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I believe. There's a Playgroup at ...

Can anyone recommend a good tricycle for a two year old as we want to buy one for our daughter's birthday. Is she too old for a smart trike now?

Re: Playgroups for 1 year old in Wandsworth Common Area

There's the buzz around Playgroup at the Nature Centre (next to Skylark cafe) on Wandsworth Common on Tuesdays 11am - 1pm and a Playgroup at Trinity Road Chapel on Trinity Road again on Tuesdays. I haven't been to either so don't know what they're like. There's also an NCT meet up for mums at the Co...

Re: Starting in September at Marmalade Caterpillar

Hi Hjm, I'll let you know if I find out anything useful. Does your child have a summer birthday too? Am not sure when toddlers generally drop their lunchtime nap, I'd heard from around 2.5? but obviously they're all different.

Starting in September at Marmalade Caterpillar

My daughter is starting at Marmalade Caterpillar in September. She has an afternoon place and I'm wondering whether she should do 3 or 5 afternoons a week. She will only have recently turned 2 so I'm worried about how she might get on with 5 afternoons from a nap perspective although I'm guessing sh...

Re: Organising a 2nd birthday party

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into those options. Am ideally looking for somewhere in/near Balham/Between the Commons. No plans to put on too much in terms of entertainment, just keen to avoid the chaos of holding a birthday party at home last year for my daughter!! Has anyone gone down the ...

Organising a 2nd birthday party

My daughter turns 2 in the summer and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a local venue where I could hold her birthday party? Also, any other suggestions on what makes a good second birthday party gratefully received. Thanks. :)

Re: Local playgroups/activities for a newborn and a toddler?

Thanks Super Dad. Unfortunately my daughter looks like she's a bit too young at the moment as she's only 20 months but looks good for when she's older. Would be good to find an activity on Mondays or Tuesdays to do with her that is suitable for 18 months + and I can take my newborn along to. What do...

Re: looking for upholsterer/cushion-maker for small job

Hi CGlass, did you have any luck finding someone? I'm looking for someone to make a seat cushion cover for a wicker chair and would be really interested in any recommendations of who might be able to do this. Thanks.

Re: Local playgroups/activities for a newborn and a toddler?

Hi Pie81, I didn't know about Cafe207 so I will definitely try that out and also check if I can take my 20 month old along to the NCT playgroup at St Michael's Church. Thanks very much for the suggestions.

Local playgroups/activities for a newborn and a toddler?

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good playgroup or other activities that would work well to take my newborn baby and toddler (20 months old) to on a Monday or Tuesday? I live near Wandsworth Common train station and need something that's within walking distance as I don't drive. I'd really ...
