Re: Vandals cut down tress on Balham High Road

I suspect there is more to this story too - a tree was also cut down in Canford Rd SW11 over Xmas without the usual pre-warning of a council sign. On Friday I then saw tree fellers lopping brutally at a tree in Buckmaster/Auckland Rd - wearing hi-viz vests but again no sign and there were still cars...

Re: Husband obsessed with son doing Oxbridge

These teenager years are critical for internalising messages about self worth that will stay with a person for decades to come. There is a much bigger picture here. If your child is already feeling stressed his mental health is at risk. Get your husband some articles to read on influencing factors o...

Re: RingGo Parking

Why does it matter? Why shouldn’t we pay for parking each time we park? Do you question TfL charging you to travel each time you travel. Or Starbucks for each cup of coffee. PAYG is a perfectly reasonable business approach it seems to me.

Re: Parking tickets

Err - as many as the locations in which you have a parking violation? EG. Potentially unlimited if you move around Wandsworth all day and don’t pay for your parking in any place. Or if you mean your car has not moved and you have accidentally parked in contravention if the rules - eg. Your resident ...

Re: Recommendation needed: Fertility Clinic in London AND specialist

Before you commit to this route - or alongside your first steps down it - have you tried acupuncture? The medical basis is sound now and decently evidenced - you can research it for yourself. It worked for me within 6 weeks of starting sessions.

Re: **BEWARE WHILST WAITING IN A CAR AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION STATION**

This company is a well known bully - they will threaten all the way to the ombudsman but they always cave before getting there... there is no way they can win this one - just stick to the facts (1) they have not provided evidence to you of overstay because they cannot prove entry time (2) they canno...

Re: Swimming Lessons for 3 year old

Dolphin Swim School in Mitcham - it’s a bit further out but well worth the 25 min drive. I’ve been using them for 20 years. Best kids instruction by far - in a purpose built deep pool where they kids can’t put their feet up (so no cheating and they learn much faster). Parking on site and a little pl...

Re: Any insight on Belleville Wix Academy?

You don’t say how old your child is. If you are applying for reception then sending your child to Wix now will be no different from sending them to any other of Belleville’s sites at either Webb’s Road or Meteor Street. Ofsted reporting must be considered in context. To take over a school and move i...

Re: teenage boy staying over with girlfriend

In my experience - 17 year olds in 2019 have to handle much more mature and complex influences and pressures than we were exposed to 20-30 years ago. You will be allowing him private space and time to pursue and develop intimacy with his girlfriend. It is impossible for a 17 year old to have this wi...

Re: Devastated by husband's announcement

If you love him and your kids then fight to save your marriage. Recognise and take responsibility for the fact that his needs are not being met and that you can help chance that - just as I’m sure there are things you want and need him to do differently. Loss of intimacy and connection is very commo...

Re: Planning permission granted for bigger and better Northcote Library

Wow - talk about spin. Residents are actually losing one whole site (the existing library) which is being sold for more unaffordable housing. New library and community centre are both being squeezed onto the Chatham Hall site with the loss of the outside space there enjoyed by the current nursery. E...
