Re: Tow bar fitting?

Hello, I was quoted by the mobile service "Towbar2u" as following; "The price for a fixed towbar with single 7pin universal electrics is £255.00 including VAT and fully fitted at home or place of work." This was about 50% cheaper than my Audi dealer (I have an Audi A3) but in the...

Re: Car brokers

Hi Pitterpat, although I'm an avowed petrolhead I know nothing about car brokers (probably because I'm confident enough myself to go through the whole business - (and quite enjoy it actually!) I do know that new-car main dealers dislike them because of their negotiation skills which is a recommendat...

Ok, it has hazelnuts on top, but maybe close enough?
Enjoy!
Thanks Sid! ... I'm off to Lidl tomorrow and try some (Ritter Sport is a new one on me! )

Re: Rum & Raisin Chocolate - Yum or Yuk??? - A Willie Wonker Appeal for Opinions!

Try again but burn the alcohol off first before adding to the raisins. You shouldn't pass out after a few chunks. This has inspired me to make some from a bit of Antiguan rum I still have left over. Rum and raisin is my favourite ice cream flavour but £5.50 for a bar of chocolate wouldn't make me b...

Re: Rum & Raisin Chocolate - Yum or Yuk??? - A Willie Wonker Appeal for Opinions!

At £5 a pop, no sorry. Why dont you make it yourself for you to enjoy? Buy good quality chocolate, soak tge raisins in rum, melt the chocolate and pipe it in mould, add the raisins and out in the fridge. Job done. Enjoy. You're quite right Supergirl, but I did that last year and it was... ...a.disa...

Rum & Raisin Chocolate - Yum or Yuk??? - A Willie Wonker Appeal for Opinions!

Sorry to spring a bit of market research on you... Cadbury's used to make "Old Jamaica" a delicious combination of dark chocolate and rum-soaked raisins...yum! Two years ago they stopped making it - and searching the net the only way you seem to get an equivalent is a Cadbury's bar called ...

Wandsworth's Lost Leviathan - Strange History of a Nappy Valley Giant

Hello all, I had heard of the giant Wandsworth telescope erected in 1852 and, at the time, the largest refracting telescope in the world. I knew it was on that stretch of land mysteriously called "The Telescope" that runs about 500 metres from the junction of Bellevue, Burntwood Lane and T...

Re: Where to go to ride bikes with kids?

Agree with Caferacer, but I would suggest the following modifications: drive to Putney, park on the river by the boat clubhouses. Take the bikes out on the river path going west, it is pretty much semi-rural in feel. That way, you avoid crossing any roads with motor traffic. If you make it as far a...

Re: Where to go to ride bikes with kids?

Hi 2009Kat, one route that I used to use is the river paths along the Thames. Staring at The Ship on Jews Row (by the bridge) you can cycle east past Battersea Heliport ( extra bonus if a helicopter is coming in or out) then on to Battersea Park (where you can go round and round to your hearts conte...
