Re: Au pair meet up!

We've also had a lovely Columbian au pair recently join our family, if you could message me too (07925477949) that would be ace, I'm sure she'd love to meet some other local au pairs!

Re: Advice re: Au Pair

As far as I know, there is no more Au Pair job description in the UK after Brexit.  This is incorrect. The Au Pair scheme remains as it was pre-Brexit. However, additional visa requirements for EU nationals are now in place whereas they were not before. I'm just looking for an agency recommendation...

Advice re: Au Pair

We are looking for an Au Pair to join our family in September 2022. We're moving from full time nanny to full time nursery plus wrap around.

Can anyone recommend an agency or any other advice tips?

TIA

Re: Nursery - Between the commons

Our 2 year old is at the Butterfly Preschool on Webbs Road. It is utterly delightful, super small, Montessori concept, separate PE, music and yoga teachers. To be fair we didn't look anywhere else so can't compare but it's perfect for us.

Re: how much to pay for a nanny?

We pay our full time (50 hours per week) nanny £33k, she is a trainee norland nanny (essentially doing the nanny equivalent of her NQT year), so she's a little cheaper. We pay pension contributions and employers NI on top of her salary. She is live out, we provide her with lunch (she pops what she w...

Re: Chez Bruce - non-family friendly

We have experienced quite the opposite.

We went for lunch with our 8 month old, they had a high chair, cooked him a plate of green veg and were really accommodating.

It’s quite a small restaurant so it’s fair that they can’t have buggies in there. It’s compact at the best of times.

Re: Did you receive a present for giving birth?

I did not and was not offended/upset, I was not expecting anything, didn't really know it was a thing to be honest.

Re: has your xmas tree been collected?

We put ours in the front garden on the 4th and it was taken on that day, not our usual collections day, which would have been the 8th.

Re: is wine a good thing to invest in?

We’ve done some with our son’s Christmas/birthday money, you can go anywhere up from about £300 a case (depending on the amount of time you want to be able to keep it for).

I’d recommend privatecellar.co.uk as a starter for info abs also a potential to use 👍🏻

Re: Paying cleaners during lockdown

We are paying our cleaner in full, I just don’t understand those that aren’t given current circumstances.

Re: Live out nanny post today’s announcement

We've had guidance from our nanny agency that our live-out nanny won't be able to come to work with their interpretation of the current guidance. This is on the basis that she can't work from home or practice social distancing while at work. We will also be looking into taking the 80% support as a f...

General Election - what do we think for Battersea?

Given Labour only just snuck in in 2017 ousting the long standing conservatives? We're also a pretty staunchly remain constituency so could the lib dems get in? Or is a vote for the lib dems a wasted vote? What do we think would be worse, a Corbyn government or a potential no deal Brexit? I may just...

Re: Nanny costs

We pay our live out nanny £32k for 50 hours a week (8-6 Monday-Friday).

It works out (with employers NI and pension contributions) around £3,200 a month.
