Re: chimney sweep

After a little checking around, I had the guys from Aardvark Sweeps round today to sweep my woodburner and an open fire. I have to say they were absolutely fabulous! They did both jobs with a minimum of fuss, removing a sack of soot from the open fire, no mess (amazing) and left both looking cleaner...

Hi,

As far as I understand it, in london - as it is a smokeless zone, you should only burn smokeless fuel unless you have a defra approved wood burning stove. In reality I have never known anyone to get into trouble for burning wood in london.

Definitely! It is so convenient. I started off with a 50cc Vespa but changed it within a year for a 125cc as I felt it didn't have quite enough power for hills and on the odd occasion when I needed to go over 30. Also, I try not to use mine when it is raining, it just isn't much fun and the benefits...

You have my sympathies Emma, I had a similar experience when we were having a loft conversion and one of our party wall was with a council owned house. The council appolnted a firm of city surveyors who initially said it would cost me about £1500 and then sent me a bill for nearly £3000. After a lot...
