Re: Speech Therapist Recommendation - Fronting

My daughters have had their speech corrected by Speech Therapy South London - they have a clinic near Clapham South tube and a number of different therapists. They specialise in motor speech difficulties etc so definitely worth a call.

Re: Another 8% fee increase at Hornsby House school

Quite. Back to the point, comparing HH with Thomas’s or Northwood is completely inappropriate given the ownership structure. HH and Finton should be offering considerably lower fees as they are educational charities and not run for profit. For the majority of parents something will have to give. For...

Re: Another 8% fee increase at Hornsby House school

But aren’t the more expensive schools all the non charities ie owned by private equity or creaming a profit off for the owner, with associated tax implications of a non charitable status? I think only HH and Finton are charities in this area and hence the most relevant comparison. Private schools wi...

Re: Awnings - any suggestions?

Hello, I am just about to start an extension which means I need to sell my current awning to replace with a wider awning. Our current awning is less than 3 years old, 6m wide by 3m extension, and made by weinor which is a very high quality German awning manufacturer. It is fully electric with a wind...

Re: School fee rebates

I have heard similar re Hornsby regarding no rebate as yet and governors will consider at end of term. Whilst i appreciate c.70 per cent of fees goes to staff, there must be considerable savings to made, judging by my own printer cartridge and Ocado bills when the children are at home. And schools s...

Re: Starbucks gone

The landlord of the Abbeville Road branch has apparently significantly raised rents (I heard to 60k) which even Starbucks couldn’t make work so I agree not much hope for independents.. Abbeville Road is also losing a few other shops and restaurants (independents) due to the rate hike

Re: Nursery Places Available at 'Outstanding' Nursery

Second that recommendation for Crescent iii. Huge amount of outdoors space for a nursery school in Clapham away from pollution. Part of the Kindergartens group with very solid curriculum and teaching quality.

Re: Urgent Dental Implant Recommendation Please

I am currently seeing dr Richard Porter at St. George’s privately. He is a consultant in restorative dentistry and is certainly very trust worthy and highly experienced in complex cases. I had quite a complicated case (according to other implant dentists I saw) but given richard’s expertise i get th...

Creaking floorboards

Apologies if this is a very basic diy problem but the floorboards in my Victorian mid terrace are seriously creaking now in pretty much every room and on the stairs. Driving me mad (especially when my four year old wakes at every step past her room!). I don't even know where to begin with investigat...

Re: Wardrobe revamp recommendations?

Eclectic interiors on abbeville road recently did the most beautiful wall to wall wardrobes for me. They use CAD for images etc and can provide any of the drawers etc you mention. I have also used them for kitchen and bathrooms and their finish is always very high quality.

Re: Hornsby or Eaton House Girls

Looking at the literature I have for HH, reception is teacher plus two TAs (20 children), then one TA and teacher up to year 4, plus gap year students shared around on top.
