Re: Shellac removal

I use a high grade buffing block to break the seal on the Shellac first. Also, make sure you use nail polish remover that contains acetone - Superdrug do one especially for artificial nail removal.

Have a look at Luxury Home Management - run by a friend. They will take your existing furniture and use it to best effect and can upscale from there. http://luxuryhomemanagement.co.uk/styling/

Re: Botox

You're right beside the amazing Mica Engel - Cosmetica - Hildreth Street. Think she's in Tatler guide, used to work for vv expensive clinic in Harley Street, very good rep. I'm sure they offered a special discount to NVNers as they were so pleased with their reviews on here when they first moved to ...

Re: Highlights advice - again!

Mark who worked at Mr B’s on Fulham Road for years has now gone mobile and is great for blonde highlights - he uses L’Oreal, I think. He’s also a very good cutter/blowdry. I used to go to a high profile colourist in west end which was a fortune for not a great job (plus hair was becoming damaged) an...

Re: Kitchen Brands: Schuller vs Hacker vs Magnet?

Shop around on the Hacker quote as they do vary from supplier. There are two ranges, one is basic white carcases, the other grey/maybe other colours - can't remember the names, Classic I think. Anyway, door fronts are the same but big difference in price. Usual rules apply: cupboards cheaper than dr...

Re: Engineered Wood Floor - Online recommendation?

I think it's better to see the floor in real life. I've had numerous samples through which are clearly the best cuts, and don't give a true indication of the how the floor will look in a bigger space. There's obviously Wood Floor Company, Jordans (as previously mentioned) and I've also seen Wood and...

Re: Side return extension - is it worth the hassle?

If your flat is leasehold you'll have to get the freeholder permission which may be an added expense. A good builder should be able to advise - if you use one familiar with that type of conversion/your area they'll know the most appropriate layout. You'll also be able to get an idea of cost and work...

Re: Anyone used architects Giles Pike, Ade Architecture or RDA?

I did indeed - a couple of times actually. It was very convenient having everything under one roof.

Re: Anyone used architects Giles Pike, Ade Architecture or RDA?

@Mungomuffit. Have you looked at Stuart James Associates? They used to offer a 'cherry pick' service under one roof that was bespoke to what you needed, ranging from planning applications, drawings, structural calcs and party wall to, I assume, full project management. They may have changed the way ...

Re: BTL Property v Pascal Huser

Both very good although there are inevitably issues with any build. Someone once said you only ever get 8/10 however much you pay/who you use. I have sent you a PM re: another option. Sarah

Re: Considering moving to Earlsfield

Like Clare_f, my family is from London - Mayfair - and where 'pushed out' over the years. When I first bought in Fulham over 30 years ago it was considered very down at heel. I've lived in Fulham off and on since - and although it's improved I don't view it as much less 'rough' than Earlsfield - the...

Re: Depression (Male)

I'm not an expert but the little I know suggests that if it's clinical rather than reactive depression meds may be required - which means a prescription. Would you consider a private GP in the first instance to establish if it's meds or CBT/Counselling/Psychotherapy that's needed to help? If you go ...
