Jo Partridge

I'd love to hear what people's views are on Jo Partridge on Bellevue. I had my hair cut there a few weeks ago and came across the most rude lady ever. She was arrogant, clearly unwilling to listen to what customers wanted and behaved as though she didn't like her job. Worst of all, I realised when I...

Re: Big Dip

Awful awful awful! We had an awful experience and would not go near it again. Probably ok for older children, but my daughter fell on the edge of the sandpit and ended up in A&E (because where she fell there was not enough sand, just the wooden frame). Not suitable for toddlers in any way. And t...

Re: Toddler milk feeds

Thanks, that makes me feel so much better. I've often heard that by this age, they should be on one milk a day, and from a beaker ( mine still drinks from a bottle). When we are out and about in a group, I am the only one that brings out milk in the afternoon and get lots of funny looks! My daughter...

Toddler milk feeds

Please can someone explain the downside of giving toddlers too much milk? My daughter is 19 months and has three milk feeds a day, three meals and one snack. Why is it not advisable to give so much milk? She loves it so much. (There is no chance of her getting obese, she is on the small side).
Thanks

Re: Reflux Nightmare!!

Hi Lunalu, I can really empathise with what you and others are going through. My first baby had chronic reflux - it emerged when she was 5 days old and stopped when she was 10 months old. I would say throughout that whole period, I never really relaxed. My mind was constantly on how much pain she wa...

Re: Mother slapping her child

Goldhawk, I completely respect the fact that you disagree with me, but how can you compare adults hitting each other to a mother smacking her child? I think that's a somewhat tenuous analogy. Isn't a mother completely in her right to discipline her child the way she sees fit. And please answer this,...

Re: Weaning- Can i freeze dishes made with frozen chicken stock?

My nanny does it all the time and it is the most delicious thing.I know because I often raid the freezer for the stock to use in my own dishes!

Re: Mother slapping her child

There haven been topics about whether a stranger should intervene when a nanny is shouting aggressively at a child, but I personally think when it comes to mothers and children, it is absolutely not within a bystander's right to intervene. Everybody has different views on how one should raise childr...

Re: A little (well, big) rant...look after your babysitters!!!!

Some of the responses just sound weird. I pay £10/hr plus provide dinner and taxis home (which always costs £9) and I call the taxi myself when I am on my way home. When you tot up the total cost of childcare, cost of taxi home seems somewhat marginal. And I think there is an element of moral consci...

Re: Gambado Chelsea Summer Membership Offer

I can't help but think Gambados is a rip off, and find it slightly offensive that they charge mummies/nannies. That has put me off going to date.
But I'd love to hear what people think of the place - if it is really brilliant, then i can be persuaded!

Re: Birthday Cakes

Try Cakes by Robin in Southfields. They are amazing. I had my daughters 1st birthday cake made by them, and it was done to perfection. It was a cake for 50 people and I wanted fresh cream, so no easy feat, but they did an outstanding job, and for once it was a cake that adults enjoyed as well as the...

Re: Does anyone know when Sainsbury's Bellevue opens?

Apologies, not to get personal but I think you are taking a figure of speech just a little bit out of proportion. this is a website for mummies/daddies/nannies etc, not the BBC news. No idea what FFS means and have no interest in finding out, too busy researching positive things for my daughter, lik...
