I think it's a shame that it's become a thing - yet more commercialism. It honestly didn't occur to me that I'd receive a present - isn't the child the gift?

My son has just left university so is a bit older - I presume that doesn't matter? He is still in a house share, will there be any meals for more than 1? He sometimes has to cook for 4.
