Bifolds dilemma/ escalating costs!

Hello fellow SW Londoners Please tell me others felt the pain and stress of escalating costs in their building work. It's keeping me awake at night because we simply have a finite budget. Our builder keeps finding problems (which I believe him on) which are starting to make me regret buying this blo...

I'm really surprised to hear this because we've had a terrible time with Clinton.

Bifold doors that don't cost the earth?

Hi guys I know there's probably a million posts on this, but not all are recent. I don't really know where to start on choosing bifold doors, where to go, and when to order. This isn't our forever house, so I'm not looking for super high end - we are on a budget. That said, we would like them to be ...

Re: Husbands affair

I'm so sorry to hear this. Forgive me for making an assumption, but do you think maybe you do want to talk about it, given that you posted something on here with the detail? I know it can be easy to look for a distraction, yet you may find it's covering it up and will be harder later down the line. ...

I just received a text message from the neighbour saying building work has started today.

We've had nothing from them. No Schedule of Condition, no Three Metre notice, no surveyors, no idea of timelines. They've just gone ahead!!

Re: Neighbour extending / party wall being ignored

Thanks for your replies. I’m aware it is in our best interests, it’s just that I can’t get the other side to communicate. I don’t want to have to pay for the surveyor (that’s not the done thing I realise). They won’t be having steel beams as it’s a lean-to with skylights. But they will be excavating...

Neighbour extending / party wall being ignored

Hello I live in a ground floor flat in a Victorian conversion. Our next door neighbours, also in the ground floor flat, want to do a side return extension. They said they want to do it quickly and inexpensively, and don't seem to fully know the ins and outs of doing an extension. It's within permitt...
