Price as marked?

If an item is a store has a price tag on it and when you get to the till you are told it's been priced incorrectly, does the shop need to honor the price on the item or can they charge the higher price? This happened to me yesterday and the difference was only 50p, but I was surprised when the girl ...

Re: recommendations for child-friendly posh-ish lunch

Metro Gusto on Battersea Park Road across from the rail station is a great option. The food is very good, they don't have a kid's menu yet, but plenty of child friendly dishes and they are good about special orders. They have some couches with games where the kids can play. We took our kids there fo...

Dodgy flyer man

Hi - I just wanted to warn people to make sure their doors are clicked shut tight. As I was walking my dog down Honeywell road yesterday afternoon, I saw a man putting flyers through a door. He didn't notice me, but I'm sure I saw him give the door a push to see if it was open. I followed him for a ...

Re: DESPERATELY NEED A DRESSMAKER TO COPY A COAT FOR ME BY NOV!

Total Wardrobe Care on Queenstown Road www.totalwardrobecare.co.uk They will copy designs, make alterations and sell really nice anti-moth sachets & material, as well as boxes for shoes, sweaters, etc. I saw them at the KCWC Fashion Fayre last May in the Chelsea Old Town Hall and bought some of ...

Re: My cleaner's husband is hitting her!

Hesita is another charity that operates refuges for women, I've had some contact with them in the past (as a volunteer) and they are all really good people. Depending upon what type of visa your cleaner has, she may not be able to access public funds for help - it would say on her visa - "no ac...

Re: Padded bras for 7 year olds at Debenhams

I agree - I think Debenhams is doing a huge disservice to our community by stocking padded bras for little girls. We don't need to make 7 year olds look like little women, that is sending the wrong message.

Re: Can anyone recommend a juicing machine?

Has anyone tried the Vitamix?

I've seen one demonstrated and while they seem really amazing, I wonder if it would get used enough to justify the high price.

Re: Do you pay your cleaner when you go on holiday?

We always pay our cleaner/nanny when we go on holiday. She is dependent upon the income and can't go a few weeks without pay. Plus, if I expect to have the same hours when I return, then I feel I should hold my spot. We also pay when she goes on holiday, but unless she's a full time or almost full t...

Podiatrist who makes Orthotics needed

Could anyone recommend a good podiatrist. My lovely lab puppy just chewed up my orthotics and I need a new pair. I wasn't happy with the person who made them for me last time and am hoping to find someone local.

Thanks!

Re: Nanny advice please!

Hi, I would recommend checking out the Best Bear website: http://www.bestbear.co.uk/ Best Bear vets nanny agencies to make sure that they are really running all the checks they say they do. I looked into the site for an organisation I'm part of and was impressed with their methodology and thought th...

Re: RECEPTIONIST / PA - LUXURY GOODS

You do realise that is against the law in the UK to discriminate based on nationality. It's surprising that you've posted this job on a discussion board that serves a diverse community with people from all over the world who may be excellent candidates for the post you are trying to fill.

Re: Witness Appeal - Gayville Rd robbery

I haven't noticed any police patrols in the area for a while and when I do they are at daylight hours. I rarely see a police presence BTC in the evening, when these attacks are happening. Am I just missing them? Has anyone else noticed a police presence?

I would hope they step up patrols.

Re: Educational Psychologist

We've used Annie Mitchell - we were happy with her report, but she's very busy and was hard to get into. Her number is: 07889242241 or amitchellep@googlemail.com

I have friends who have used Dirk Flowers - he works at Flower Associates - 0845 070 7778 http://www.flowerassociates.co.uk/

Good luck!
